Match 1 – Combe : 2 V Bloxham : 0
We started extremely well with a formation of 2-3-1, and the midfield working like Trojans to chase the opposition down and they came at us time after time, and not before long they got their first score. Unfazed by this, the team picked themselves up and got stuck in again, with superb goalkeeping from Hayden Tracey, keeping the home team at bay. As the game progressed Combe got their rewards by scoring a further goal.
Match 2 - Combe : 0 V Bloxham 3
With such great team spirit and now realising what it was all about it was time for a re-shuffle and try different players in new positions and have a team talk. I decided to swap Hayden Tracey from goalkeeper and George Cuthbert from defence who both had a storming performance in match 1. Straight from the whistle the team got stuck in again, tackling from Korben Haden who was like a little terrier, he wouldn’t give up on any loose ball. Quinton Blythe had his own agenda. that was to dribble his way through their midfield and defence time after time before he got his goal.
Each member of the team were absolute Superstars, they started with a smile and finished with Cheshire cat smile! They played superb and did myself and their parents proud!
On a personal note Stuart Haden commented to me during the second match “ You have the making of a really good team” To me this means we are going in the right direction since taking on the team in the summer we have had players come and go, the attitude of the team is brilliant, the parents help and support is excellent. This makes my role and my Assistants Nick & Scott so much more easier.
Thank you
