Bloxham enjoyed a good day

the u8s travelled to carterton to play in the witney and district league tournament.
Bloxham were put into a strong group with Banbury united youth,Bampton fc and combe juniors.
The first game was against combe and Bloxham started off slowly making some good passes but not pushing forward combe had a couple of chances but nothing that troubled Bloxham.
As the first half went on Bloxham were starting to get into there stride.
During the second half Bloxham were getting much better and it was Ryan who took his opportunity as he looked up and noticed he had time to shoot from distance so struck it and watched it fly into the back of the net.
The confidence was flowing through the team and it wasn't long when Taylor got the ball and ran at the combe defence lifted his head up and made a good pass to Riley who ran and shot to knock it pass the keeper.
Bloxham saw the rest of the game out with ease.

Bloxham v Bampton

Bloxham knew this was going to be a though game as both sides have played each other before and the games had been tight.
As the game got under way Bloxham attacked straight away and bampton struggled to get the ball as Bloxham passed it about with confidence and had a couple of chances to score but there keeper Made some good saves.
Bampton started to get into the game and had a few chances but max made some good saves but it was Bampton that scored first when Bloxham made a mistake at the back which gave the bampton player a chance to shoot max saved it but it fell to a bampton player who tapped it in.
during the second half Bloxham pushed forward and had some good chances when Taylor ran down the wing spotted Alfie prentice on his own passed him the ball Alfie prentice controlled it as he ran towards goal but there keeper was there to deny Bloxham and that sort of play happened a few times.
Bampton did not trouble Bloxham much in the second half and Bloxham finished the stronger team.
A draw would have been a fair result but Bloxham couldn't get the ball passed the keeper.

Bloxham v Banbury united youth

Their last match was against banbury united youth and Bloxham started well pushing forward and creating a couple of chances but banbury started to get the ball more and had a few chances themselves but nothing that got the alarm bells ringing.
It was Bloxham that took the initiative when they won a corner.
Alfie prentice spotted Alfie smith free on the edge of the box and passed him the the ball,Alfie smith controlled it then struck the ball at goal it took a slight deflection but nestled into the back of the net.
The second half banbury pushed forward but couldn't get past the Bloxham defence and Bloxham kept hitting banbury on the counter
and could of scored another 1 or 2 goals but the keeper made some good saves.

Review: Today's tournament was good all the players did well and played some good football.
it was good to see them play with there heads up and making some good clever decisions.
Well done.
