Bloxham squeeze through

Bloxham played Middleton in a epic cup game

Bloxham entertained Middleton Cheney in the cup with the winners going through into the last 16.
The conditions were poor with the pitch being muddy and the weather being drizzly it was going to be a though morning of football.
Bloxham took kick off and started well having effort saved straight away.
middleton hit back with an effort just going wide.
Both teams were struggling to get a foot on the ball with passes going a stray and heavy touches on the ball as the conditions were making it difficult.
It was Bloxham who struck first as Max L used his pace and strength to get past the Middleton players and release a shot which beat the keeper 1-0.
The ball was being given away to easily by both teams and it was Middleton who drove forward down the wing and hit it with some power and it flew past Max who had no chance as the ball nestled into the bottom right corner great goal and was in my eyes goal of the game 1-1.
That goal put a bit of a spring in middleton play and they pressed Bloxham well but couldn't get a clean effort away.
Bloxham did well soaking up the pressure and turning that pressure into a counter attack when Max broke free and passed it to Alfie s who beat a couple of players with his pace and determination and leashed a shot which hit the back of the net 2-1.
As soon as middleton took centre the whistle was blown for half time.
The second half was a bit like the first with both teams making some good tackles and making way ward passes but Bloxham looked a bit nervous and their shape had gone a bit and middleton were pushing for the equalizer and it was in the 7th min of the half when middleton took their chance and scored 2-2.
Bloxham were a little shocked and middleton were pumped up and were straight on to Bloxham winning their tackles but Bloxham defended really well with Ellis and Kajius winning there tackles and getting the ball forward, Bloxham had a couple of chances but they were only half chances.
Middleton's pressure payed off when they won a corner and crossed it into the box Max saved it but could only push it back in to play with four Bloxham players looking at it a middleton cheney player nipped in and smashed it passed the keeper 2-3.
After that third goal we were going to see what Bloxham are made of could they come back from this with 5 mins left to play.
With Bloxham chasing the game the match opened up and Middleton had a few chances to score but with some good defending Bloxham kept them out.
Bloxham created chance after chance but middleton crowded their 12 yard box which made it really difficult to get a shot way.
With seconds ticking away Bloxham were running out of time there was only 40secs left when Bloxham got the break through they had been waiting for.
Bloxham had won a corner which Taylor took Ellis flicked it in to the box which caused confusion and it was a Bloxham player that finished it to make 3-3.
Full time.
Extra Time
Bloxham took kick off and started well but middleton did well closing down and making it difficult for Bloxham to get the ball forward as the game went on both teams cancelled each other out 3-3.
The second half of extra time was all Bloxham as they pushed forward creating chances but not making the most of them.
Middleton couldn't get out off their half as the pressure grew by Bloxham.
Could Bloxham get the winner in extra time with all the pressure they were putting on middleton.
Full Time
PENILTIES
Bloxham win 4-3.
Review: Bloxham made real hard work off this match their ball control and passing was not there best also there shape as a team and keeping to there positions has been better.
The positives from this game was when they went from 2-1 up to 2-3 there heads didn't drop they kept on going and worked hard right to the end and were rewarded with a quarter final tie against Tower Hill.
MOM: Goes to Max C who made two good saves in the penalty shoot out to put us trough to the next round.

second match:
Bloxham lined up for the second match and started really well they passed it about much better and were playing with much more freedom and with that scored when Max L making one of his powerful runs to slot it past the keeper 1-0.
The football was much better and it was Bloxham piling on the pressure that lead to the second when max passed to Freddy who ran with the ball and passed to Alfie S who took a shot which the keeper saved but it fell to Freddy who took a shot the ball rebound to Barney who knocked it into a empty net 2-0.
Bloxham were doing everything right closing down and winning their tackles which set up their attack for their third goal which Alfie S took well 3-0.
Fenton was solid at the back and made a good pass to Matthew who passed to Taylor who did a one two with Alfie and Taylor scored 4-0.
second half:
Bloxham were full of beans and carried on the way they did the first Half closing down and winning their tackles but had improved the most was their passing and the movement off the ball and with that it help create their fifth goal when Taylor passed to Barney who passed to Ellis who passed to Max L who hit it past the keeper 5-0.
Bloxham were just too strong in the second match and middleton couldn't get the ball into the Bloxham half as Max won a tackle out wide and drove forward skipping past two tackles and saw the keeper out off position and off his line to hit it into an empty net 6-0.
Bloxham could off scored more but the game ended 6-0.
Review: Bloxham played much better in the second match their passing, shape was better they kept to their positions and closed down well.
Every player won their tackles and the determination was better they seemed to play with out any nerves like a big weight had been lifted off their shoulder.
it was a much better performance by Bloxham and a positive way to end the morning.
MOM: this goes to Fenton who was solid at the back and made some good passes as well as tackles keep it up.
