Bloxham entertained various teams in their tournament today.
With the sun shining it promised to be a good day.
Bloxhams first match was a team from birmingham and we started of really slowly and with in 4 mins we were 2-0 down.
Was it going to be one of those days well the answer was no Bloxham worked really hard and pulled it back to make the final result 2-2.
there second match was against Banbury united Bloxham started well and were always looking dangerous on the attack and eventually scored 1-0.
Banbury united never really troubled them and bloxham had a few more chances but didn't take them and the game finished 1-0.
Their third match was against middleton cheney and again Bloxham dominated but could only score one goal and saw the rest of the game out with ease 1-0.
The fourth game was against Easington which was going to be a tough game.
Easington put a lot of pressure in the first 3 mins but Bloxham held there own and started to get chances and both teams started to play some good football but Bloxham hit them on the counter and scored.
Easington piled on the the pressure and could have scored a equaliser but Bloxhams keeper was outstanding and made some great saves.
Bloxham won 1-0
The final match was against Halse and this proved to be a bit comfortable for bloxham as they knocked it about with confidence and went on to win this match 4-0.
They had done it getting through the group stages with out losing a match the semi-finals becked.
In the semi-final they played halse second team and like the first beat them comfortable 3-1 with some good football being played and never seemed to be troubled by halse.
Bloxham had done it they got to the finals now who would they meet.
The team they had to beat to lift the trophy was Easington so it was going to be a tough final.
Bloxham started well keeping toe to toe with Easington who passed the ball about really well.
Both teams were cancelling each other out until Bloxham made a mistake and Easington ceased on it to go 1-0 up.
Bloxham woke up and attacked more but forgot about their defensive duties and were caught by a good counter attack to go 2-0 down.
With the game nearly coming to an end Bloxham went for broke and Easington again broke through and scored the third final score 3-0
Easington played some good football in the final and deserved to win.
Review:Bloxham were excellent they worked hard and played as a team they battled for every ball and deserved to get to the final.
this should give the players a lot of confidence and proves they can make it to finals the next stage is to cross that finishing line.
once again well done to all the players.
