Bloxham go cold

By

Bloxham switch off and take there eye off the ball

Bloxham returned from there half term break with a match against Easington reds.
it was a cold morning with a fresh breeze going straight through you and that's how Bloxham started going straight through easington to have the first shot at goal but a good save was made by the keeper.
Bloxham played there usual style of football playing through the thirds while easington played the long ball which made it easy for Bloxham to regain possession when they lost the ball but it was easington that scored first when one of there long balls bounced over the defenders head which a easington player latched on to and score.
Like Bloxham have done so many times before they stuck to there style of play passing and moving and playing through the thirds and they were rewarded when Ryan made a good run down the left and some magic footwork which left the easington defence in there tracks spotted Alfie smith in space and passed him the ball.
Alfie controlled it with his first touch and with his second smashed it past the keeper 1-1.
confidence grew when Bloxham scored that goal and some of the football they played was great to watch and what happened next was worldly and is going down as a contender for goal of the season.
as Bloxham pushed forward again Kajuis was causing problems down the left hand side and had an effort cleared by the keeper which fell to Taylor who saw the keeper off his line and took a shot from the half way line it flew over the keepers head and in what a goal and great awareness 2-1.
Everyone in the team were playing with a spring in there step and it was a super sub that scored Bloxhams third when Fenton came on for Ryan and with neat pass by Taylor,Fenton took 2 touches and put it past the keeper to make it 3-1.
After the third goal went in complacency started to creep in and Bloxham took there foot off the gas and were caught ball watching when easington did a long ball to there forward which Bloxham did not pick up and he knocked it past max 3-2.
now it was game on with 5mins to go Bloxham were panicking as easington were piling on the pressure.
Bloxham defended well but easington managed to win a corner the ball was cleared but fell to a easington player who hit it and i mean hit it with such power that max made a brave dive to save it but it was so powerful it bent his fingers back 3-3.

MOM:Ryan he caused so much problem down the left wing they sometimes had to get 2 players on him but he still managed to get passed them with his quick feet and impressive skills.

Review:Bloxham played well the goals they scored were good team goals and they have learnt that when they go behind don't worry about it and pick yourself up and keep going.
The thing i think that let them down today was when they got to 3-1 they got complacent and let easington back into the game and were punished, i think its a lesson learnt and they have to keep there work rate up for the full 40mins.

second match:
Bloxham started the second match well and with in 5mins were 1 goal up when Ed made an individual run when he received a pass from Taylor.
Ed beat 3 players a buried passed the keeper great goal 1-0.
Bloxham were at easingtons goal again when Rylie won a header which set up Taylor who beat 2 players and scored 2-0.
Bloxham were flying but like the first match it just went upside down.
They weren't picking up players on throw ins they weren't get there tackles in and before they knew it Bloxham were 6-2 down at half time.
After a positive team talk Bloxham went out for the second half and within 5mins Alfie p pade a good through ball to Taylor who beat the defender and scored 3-6.
suddenly Bloxham were up for a fight and they started to compete winning tackles and it wasn't long when a easington defender made a mistake and Kajuis jumped on it and scored a power shot with his left foot keeper didn't stand a chance 4-6.
Bloxham started to Believe and it was great to see.
Taylor was leading the way galvanising the players to push forward and score more goals and it worked as Bloxham pushed forward easington felt the pressure and a another defensive mistake was capitalised on this time by Alfie p who happily smashed it passed the keeper 5-6.
Bloxham piled forward and won a corner easington cleared down field but before Bloxham could get it back into the easington area the whistle blew for full time.

MOM:Taylor he was awesome taking players on not just 1 but 2 players some times getting the team galvanised pushing them on.
Definitely his best match so far this season keep it up.

Review: Bloxham did what they did in the first match and switched off but the difference was they came out fighting and nearly clawed it back.
They proved to themselves that if you work hard as a player and as a team you can turn things round Well done to all the players for never giving up and putting every bit of energy into that second half.
