Up and Down

Bloxham had a home fixture against Brackley Athletic on a wet sunday afternoon.
Bloxham started the game really well and had loads a chances but just couldn't get the ball in the goal.
Brackley struggled to get into the Bloxham half as Bloxham kept pushing them back and with the Style of football Bloxham were playing it was only a matter of time before Bloxham took the lead.
It was Ben that scored the first goal for Bloxham as Dzuigas made a lovely pass for Ben to run on to and slipped it past the keeper.
Bloxham regained the ball very quickly from brackley and again Bloxham were creating chances but like before they couldnt put it away that is until Ben won the ball broke free from the brackley defence and knocked it past the keeper.2-0
second half
Bloxham started off a bit slowly in the second half and seemed to find it hard to get going.
Brackley seemed more up for it and started to put the Bloxham defence under pressure and to be fair they deserved there goal when the brackley player managed to get his cross in and the Bloxham defence failed to clear it as the ball went past about 3 defenders and a brackley forward put it into a empty net. 2-1
After the goal they had just conceded Bloxham still seemed to be lacking a bit of energy until a substitution was made then they suddenly found there energy and started to get back into the game and were creating chances and it was hamish who won the ball in midfield and made a great solo run beating 2 brackley players and shooting at goal but the keeper saved it but couldn't hold onto the ball and Hamish finished it.3-1
Bloxham started to get control of the game again and were playing with confidence and there 4th goal was probably my favorite not that it was a great finish but last week Thomas made some good runs with the ball but his shooting let him down but against brackley he made another one of his dribbling runs cut inside and took his chance and scored it was great to see Thomas finish his chance and i hope that will give him confidence to go on and score more.4-1
Bloxham started to sit back thinking the game was won and were reminded that it wasn't when Brackley managed to get another goal with again some sloppy defending 4-2.
to be fair Brackley really started to push forward and had another chance but sam pulled out a great save and when brackley broke into the box Ollie made a great hard tackle and managed to get the ball away.
full time 4-2.
overall Bloxham did well but need to keep the high standard of football going for 60mins not now and then and need to work on closing down.
everyone played well but the player of the match was Dzuigas for his great runs and also setting up both goals in the first half.
the other player who got man of the match was sam as he pulled off some great saves in the second half which kept Bloxham from drawing.
